You've Got To Love Lush

Ahh, Lush! Lush products just make the perfect Christmas gift for girly girls, don't they?! Well not just Christmas - birthdays too, Valentine's day, maybe Easter, Halloween... (okay, maybe not). It'd be great if you received presents for all of them, wouldn't it? ;)

So I received the Lush "Christmas Candy Box" for Christmas and I tried to make the photo look Christmassy by chucking a bit of tinsel around the products (did it work?!) In the box, I received four items. I think most (or all) of these items are just available around Christmas time, so they may be hard to come by during the year - but they may still be available in the sale that's currently on at Lush, so get yourself there if you want to pick up any of these items for a much cheaper price.

1 Snow Fairy Shower Gel
Unfortunately, I can't link this product to the Lush website because it's only available around Christmas, but like I said before there may be some still available in the sale. This has such a sweet, candy scent (steer clear if you hate super-sweet scents!) The bright pink colour combined with the glittery bits makes the appearance really pretty and the smell reminds me of candy floss!

 2 Candy Mountain Bubble Bar
Hahaha, it made me laugh when I saw this; obviously something went wrong in the production or something seeing as it's lopsided, but it'll still work nonetheless! ;) Another sweet scent, this mainly smells of bubblegum. If you don't know how to use a bubble bar, you basically crumble it in your hand under running water and your bath then becomes filled with all these vanilla-scented, pink bubbles. I've had this before and I can't wait to use it once again. Again, it's not available through the website as it's a Christmas special, but you may be able to pick it up in the sale.

 3 Butterbear Bath Bomb
How cute is this? It's basically the ever-so popular Butterball (that's available all year round) but molded into a little bear shape. Made with cocoa butter, it's supposed to leave your skin feeling incredibly soft - it apparently also leaves a vanilla scent on your skin! I can't wait to have him in my bath hehe!

 4 Rock Star Soap
Now the "Rock Star" soap is available all year round -yay!! Again, it smells sooo sweet as it has vanilla running through it. The creamy texture persuades me into believing it'll be moisturising and quite similar to the 'Butterbear', so I'm looking forward to using this! Plus, seeing as it's a soap I'll probably get a few uses out of it.

I might update you either through my blog, Twitter or Instagram on how I got on with these products once I've used them, so look out for that if you're interested in knowing!

Are there any classic Lush products that are your all-time favourite?
Let me know in the comments :)

Ideal Accomplishments For 2015

(not my photo...obviously, have you seen it?!)

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas with whoever they spent it with (and ate enough to see you into the new year) - I know I did! I'd also like to say a big thanks to everybody who entered my giveaway and continued to promote it through Twitter; the winner has received her prize, which included products from Elf, Lush, The Body Shop, Rimmel and of course Caprilicious Jewellery, who teamed up with me for the giveaway.

In order for me to get back into the blogging game, I've decided to kick start myself off with a typical New Year's resolutions post. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, as the concept of failing within the first week is quite frankly, probable! But I've decided to set myself a few little goals that I'd like to have accomplished by the time we're waiting for 2016 to approach.

1Pass my driving test
2Come to a decision about what I'd like to do after college
3Start earning some money!
4Get decent A level results
5Stop procrastinating!
6Develop a unique/distinctive blogging 'style' of writing
7Blog more!
8See family more often
9Say yes more!
10Be in a happy/content place in my life :)

What are your New Year's resolutions?

Wanted: Winter Boots

It's that time of year again - welcome to my cold feet, winter boots! I love a good pair of boots, they're so cosy and there's so many out there that you can find to go with plenty of outfits! I like to have a pair of boots with a good grip on the bottom, perfect for when the paths start getting icy. It's also nice to have a pair that look classy and are great to go shopping in. And then there's the everyday type of boot - casual and pretty-looking!

1. H&M Knee-High Boots - £34.99
I fell in love with these as soon as I saw them and they have to be one of my favourite pairs that I picked out! They're suede and have a zip at the side; they look really sophisticated!

2. Boohoo Whitney Suedette Pointed Block Chelsea Boot - £28.00
These plain casual boots are perfect for wearing everyday and would go with a variety of outfits. I'd probably wear these for college; they look comfy and I like the little added heel.

3. New Look Tan Faux Fur Lined Cross Strap Boots - £19.99
Ideally, I'd wear these in the snow as they're really similar to Ugg boots (and Ugg boots are the only shoes that keep my feet warm in the snow - wellies are awful!) I love boots that are lined with soft fur on the inside; they're incredibly comfy - and cute!

4. New Look Tan Faux Shearling Cuff Lace Up Block Heel Boots - £29.99
Another favourite pair that I picked out. I can't stop looking at these, they're absolutely stunning! If you have these, I'm incredibly jealous haha! I love the fact that they're lace up and have a fur cuff; you can also get these in black! I don't normally like wearing a heel during the day (even a small one) but I know that boots with a heel have become popular to wear these days - so I could possibly brave these for college!

5. H&M Ankle Boots - £29.99
Another pair with fur lining. I love tanned boots lately and these look incredibly comfy! They're similar to the second pair, but these look like they have more of a grip on the bottom, which is ideal for snow. They're also quite stretchy, so easy to just slip on.

6. New Look Black Leather Buckle Trim High Leg Boots - £64.99
Another classy pair that are incredibly attractive! Even though they're quite pricey (sadly because they're real leather) they drew me in straight away. I think every girl wants a pair of gorgeous black boots - but at the moment I can only dream haha!

It pains me to say that I probably won't be buying all of these, but a girl can dream! Maybe if I win the lottery or something ;)

Will you be investing in a new pair of winter boots?

Big Fat No! BlanX White Shock Review

I've been searching high and low for a good, reasonably priced teeth whitening treatment for months now so when I saw this in Boots, I couldn't help but pick it up as I was eager to try it. My teeth aren't particularly 'Hollywood white', I wouldn't even say they're white at all; they're verging on yellow, which I absolutely hate! I've cut down on coffee, fizzy drinks and teeth staining food, but I've found that it hasn't made much of a difference. It makes me self conscious to smile! After seeing the BlanX White Shock toothpaste on the shelf in between the other more expensive products, I decided to give this a go as a sort of starter, as I didn't want to spend too much.

Not only do you get a whitening toothpaste, but you also get a blue LED light which you screw onto the end of the tube, which is a sort of accelerator to help whiten your teeth. The light activates when you take the cap off, which you then use by squeezing the toothpaste onto your toothbrush. It's supposed to "multiply the whitening action". The Actilux which is present in the toothpaste formula is meant to remain on your teeth throughout the day, without the substances that can harm your teeth and gums as it doesn't contain peroxide. Not only is it non-abrasive, but you can use it like a normal toothpaste, without worrying about it being harmful to the surface of your teeth.

It claims to brighten your smile by being activated by the natural light present during the day, which means that "the more you smile the whiter your teeth will be". The Actilux naturally helps whiten your teeth by removing bacteria, making them feel clean throughout the day.

Now after using this for two-three weeks, I don't entirely understand the fuss. The tube is only 50ml, therefore I'm nearly out of it already and for £7.50, I don't think I'll be purchasing it again as it hasn't made as much a difference as I'd hoped. The toothpaste doesn't seem to lather up much (which fools me into having to use more!) I also don't like to use it on its own as it doesn't feel like it cleans my teeth as much as a regular toothpaste does. I find the LED light a bit of a gimmick (it doesn't seem to make much of a difference - plus I don't see how a light can whiten your teeth?! I don't know.)

It may work for you, as I've seen positive reviews on this from other people, but for me it's a big fat no! It only seems to work after being applied - it definitely doesn't last all day!

Have you tried this? Let me know what you think.

Also, are there any whitening products that you could recommend that work absolutely amazingly well?! Haha, like the strips you can buy or even another toothpaste (one that I won't end up wasting my money on!)
Leave a comment below; I'd love to know!

Autumn College OOTD: Ft. CelebLook*

T-Shirt, Jeans & Bag: H&M
Scarf & Shoes: Primark
Cardigan: CelebLook

I recently got the opportunity to pick something off of www.celeblook.co.uk to review and now that it's getting colder, I decided to pick something thick and warm as I know that I'll wear it often these next few months. I incorporated it into this outfit of the day that I wore for college, alongside a plain white T, a pair of dark blue skinny jeans and a black leather bag from H&M. I also wore a cream scarf and my new black suede boots from Primark; I went for quite a plain, casual look as the cardigan's bold aztec print is the main focus of the outfit.

I love thick woolly knits in the autumn and winter time, as they're so cosy and manage to keep you snuggled up and warm throughout the day. I love the bold print on this cardigan and the neutral colours, which means it will go with a lot of outfits. It's really thick and loose, which means you don't have to worry when ordering online about the sizing.

On CelebLook, the sizing isn't that specific; most of their clothes range from small to large but they also have a plus size range too, meaning there are clothes to fit everybody! The clothes are reasonably priced and there a whole load to choose from; from pretty dresses to winter coats ready for the upcoming season.

A lot of their clothes are celebrity inspired (hence the name) and their autumn selection is jam-packed with oversized parkas, chunky knits and faux fur coats!

Gift Idea: The Body Shop White Musk

It was my birthday last week and I was lucky enough to receive something that I'd wanted for quite a while - some perfume from The Body Shop! I received this heart-shaped gift set (I'll definitely be keeping this box - I'll end up finding something to keep inside; I'm a pretty box hoarder!) It contains the White Musk Fragrance Mist, Body Lotion and Eau De Parfum.

I love a good gift set from The Body Shop; especially ones where you get the little loofah with a couple of mini bath/shower products! I love the musky scent to this and I've been using the eau de parfum for special occasions or nights out, as I find it's long lasting (I can still smell it hours later!) The fragrance mist is great for topping up during the day and the body lotion gives an all over lasting scent to the skin; it has a light formula and soaks into the skin really fast, so it's great to use in a morning (it also leaves your skin feeling incredibly silky!)

White Musk is described as being a 'sensual' fragrance, including notes of musk with rose, jasmine, amber, wood, lily, iris and vanilla. The fragrance is a classic scent from The Body Shop, making it one of its most popular perfumes (I can see why!) It's not too pricey and it would make a perfect gift for Christmas! (I think most girls would be happy with a Body Shop gift set to be honest!)

Autumn Flowers: Appleyard Luxury Review*

A company based in London called Appleyard Flowers recently contacted me to see if I could write a review about their flower bouquets - I absolutely love flowers, so I jumped at the chance! Flowers can brighten any room, instantly make it smell fresh and lift your mood. I received a colourful bouquet from their new Autumn Flowers, which is out now!

The photographs above show the bouquet sitting in my living room - I received one called 'Rose Envy' which includes a mix of versilia roses, memory lane roses and deep red roses with a few glossy red berries and blue veronica nestled in between. You can order these Luxury Flowers in a variety of sizes (from standard, large to extra large) and you can also add a personal message that'll be included with your bouquet if you were to send them to someone special. There are a variety to choose from on their website, with flowers for any situation; you can shop by occasion, season, colour and price!

Autumn Flowers
L-R: 'Cosy Cranberry', 'Hot Toddy' & 'Pumpkin Chutney'

They were dispatched very quickly and they arrived with some flower care instructions (which was lucky as I didn't have a clue how to maintain them and keep them fresh!) They also came with a little sachet of 'flower food' which you mix with some water in a vase. As you can see, the autumn bouquets are much darker than the other bouquets on their website - there's more greenery and darker flowers to tie in with the autumn theme; they look absolutely stunning in my living room!

The vase displayed in my photos was the only vase I could find, but I think the bouquet would look even better in a round, clear glass vase so you can keep the arrangement that the florist prepared. My living room is mainly filled with plain colours (nudes and beiges) so these flowers bring plenty of colour to the room and brighten it up.

Flower Care Instructions:
  • Remove all packaging and trim the stems by 2-3cm, making a diagonal cut with a sharp knife or secateurs
  • Remove any leaves that will be below the waterline
  • Remove any discoloured guard petals from roses
  • Place flowers in a clean vase filled with fresh cold water mixed with the sachet of flower food provided, following the guidelines on the reverse of the sachet. Do not use metal containers as they neutralise the effects of flower food
  • Display the flowers in a cool, light location away from draughts, direct heat, sunshine and fresh fruit
  • Keep the vase water topped up as necessary
  • To refresh flowers after 2-3 days, remove from the vase and re-cut stems by 1-2cm and replace in fresh cold water in a clean vase
I recommend buying a bunch for your room this season for when the nights start getting darker; it will no doubt bring light into your room and will lift your mood when the winter blues kick in!

Back To College: Autumn Haul

I haven't posted in God knows how long - I've been so busy with getting ready for college and playing with my new puppy hehe! But I'm back today with a haul for you, just to let you know that I'm still wanting to blog. I haven't given up, I'm just having to work around things - sadly, work comes first before my hobby.

Knowing that I was going back to college, I looked in my wardrobe to find flip-flops, vest tops and summer dresses - not very suitable for the autumn weather that'll be approaching us soon. I knew I needed to buy a few warmer bits and bobs, so I went into H&M and Primark (my two favourite shops!)

I love H&M - especially for basics! I picked up some lovely autumn tops (I say autumn because they're not cool enough for summer, but not warm enough for winter; they're sort of in between!) They're great for layering though, so they'll do for winter as well! I'm really loving plums and greys at the minute, so I managed to pick up a couple of things in them shades. They aren't too thick either, so hopefully I won't be too hot (which I always am at college because the central heating is through the roof!)

H&M is my favourite place to buy jeans from - I love the fit! I find them really flattering so I bought a pair of light blue skinny jeans. I have these in a slightly darker shade too - they're my favourite!!

I also went into Primark and bought some slip on black pumps. They were only cheap, but they're easy to slip on and they go with most outfits! I got some black suede boots too for when the weather gets worse; they seem like good quality, so hopefully they'll see me through winter!

Have you done any autumn/winter shopping yet?

Maybelline: The Rocket Review

Mascara is a main priority when it comes to my everyday makeup routine; it's the number one product that I couldn't live without (as my natural eyelashes are very blonde!) I need to make sure I coat each individual lash (without clumps!) For me, mascara is all about the brush as it determines what kind of lashes you will end up with. When I'm buying a mascara, I like to browse Boots, pulling each wand out of the tubes to see what the formula is like and the type of brush that comes with it. I hate it when I find a gungey one where the mascara is gloopy and clumpy on the brush - that mascara won't be making an entry into my shopping basket anytime soon! I want a fat brush to give me volume, that certainly doesn't smudge and that's completely waterproof - that's when I came across The Rocket Volum' Express by Maybelline.

If you have oily skin like me (especially on the upper lids and under the eyes) then having a smudge-proof mascara is a must! I've used mascaras in the past that leave black lines under my eye, making it look like I have bags! However, this mascara doesn't seem to do that - but I still make sure to apply a primer under my eyes just in case! The volume you get from it is amazing. It glides on easily and after curling my eyelashes, it gives the effect I have falsies on!

But if you want a more natural look, I wouldn't go for this as it's very black and you may not like the amount of volume it gives (especially to your lower eyelashes!) However I'm loving this mascara so far, after only having it for a week! I'm going to keep using it and see how I get on - you never know, it could become my new favourite mascara!

What do you think of this mascara? Have you tried it?
